Continuing professional development (CPD) or continuing professional education (CPE) refers to lifelong learning, which is done for professionals in order to update specialized knowledge, skills, attitudes, ethical issues, and moral values after admission to a particular profession. Therefore, due to the increasing growth of knowledge in all areas of specialization, particularly in the field of health, it is necessary for all professionals to continuously develop their careers, by annually participating in various training programs. These various educational programs are held in the form of congresses, conferences, symposia, seminars, workshops, and journal clubs, and the purpose of writing this article is to provide a definition and familiarity with the correct way to hold them.
