Of course, in this regard, parents have a major responsibility to provide children with their basic rights. The aim of this study was to survey the middle-school students’ viewpoints about respecting their rights by parents.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1016 male and female middle-school students of Gorgan city were included in 2008 using a randomised multistage cluster sampling procedure. A questionnaire containing 31 specific questions obtained from the United Nations Child Rights Charter was individually filled out for each student. The data was then analyzed by descriptive and nonparametric statistical tests using the SPSS software.
Results: Our findings showed that 70.6% of students stated that their rights were completely respected by their parents. The relationships between student's gender (p=0.04), parents education (p=0.001), father's job (p=0.001), family income (p=0.001), and family size (p=0.001) with respecting children rights by parents were statistically significant.
Conclusion: Although, many aspects are involved in promoting the physical and psychological well-being of children, the role of parents is of critical significance. Results showed that overall the satisfaction rate of children regarding respecting their rights by parents was reasonable.

Background and Objective: One of the essential elements of improving the quality of education system is continuous assessment of educational process. The basic science courses are necessary for academic achievement, solving problems and clinical decision making in subsequent periods. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the results of the comprehensive examination of basic sciences from the perspective of medical students of Rafsanjan University of Medical sciences (RUMS).
Materials and Methods: This is a discriptive cross-sectional study in which all of the medical student in years 2005-2009 were recruited by census method (185 students). The data was collected via a questionnaire and a checklist, and then descriptive statistics and analysis of covariance were (ANCOVA) utilized for data analysis.
Results: Response rate in this study was 64.9%. The results indicated a negative association between the age and the score of the comprehensive examination of basic sciences (p<0.013). There was a statistically significant association between the score of the comprehensive examination of basic sciences and the importance of teaching of embryology and immunology courses from the students’ viewpoints, the significance of nutrition, and embryology courses, the extent to which students were interested in embryology, the size of syllabus of the histology course, and the quality of teaching in mycology, entomology, and health courses (p<0.05).

The findings revealed the average scores of students perceptions on their field of study and future career opportunity rated 53.19±8.81. While over half of students (56.5%) reported positive perception towards their public health educational and training experience, most of them indicated negative perception concerning career opportunity in the future (54.8%).
