زمینه و هدف: مصرف الکل و مواد در نوجوانان باعث مشکلات روان‌شناختی و تغییرات در مغز می‌شود. خودکنترلی هیجانی که شامل فرآیندهای شناختی، هیجانی و رفتاری است که فرد می‌تواند برای کنترل هیجانات خود به کار ببرد؛ بنابراین، این پژوهش با هدف تعیین گرایش به مصرف مواد بر اساس حساسیت پردازش حسی و انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی با نقش میانجی خودکنترلی هیجانی در نوجوانان انجام گرفت.
مواد و روش‌ها: روش این مطالعه توصیفی از نوع مدل‌یابی معادلات ساختاری بود. جامعه آماری پژوهش دانش‌آموزان مشغول به تحصیل در مدارس متوسطه اول و دوم در سال تحصیلی 1403-1402 بود که از میان آن‌ها 207 دانش‌آموز به روش نمونه‌گیری چند مرحله­ای در پژوهش شرکت کردند. داده‌ها به‌وسیله پرسش‌نامه گرایش به مصرفFarjad (1385)، پرسش‌نامه حساسیت پردازش حسی Aron وAron (1977)، پرسش‌نامه انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی  Dennis(2010) و خودکنترلی هیجانیTanji  (2004) جمع‌آوری شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از مدل‌یابی ساختاری تجزیه و تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: بین گرایش به مصرف مواد با حساسیت پردازش حسی (01/0>P؛ 39/0=r) در سطح 99 درصد همبستگی مثبت و معنی‌دار و با انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی (01/0>P؛ 35/0-=r) و خود کنترلی هیجانی (01/0>P؛ 38/0-=r) در سطح 99 درصد همبستگی منفی و معنی‌دار برقرار است. حساسیت پردازش حسی و انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی علاوه بر اثر مستقیم، به طور غیرمستقیم و از طریق خودکنترلی هیجانی نیز بر گرایش به مصرف مواد تأثیر می‌گذارند.
نتیجه‌گیری: مطالعه حاضر نشان داد که خودکنترلی هیجانی، انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی بالا و حساسیت حسی کم باعث کاهش گرایش به مصرف مواد می‌شود. به نظر می‌سد نوجوانان باید به احساسات و افکار خود شناخت پیدا کنند. از این رو تمرین‌های شناختی و ذهن‌آگاهی مفید است.
