زمینه و هدف: بیماری سرطان از نظر روان‌شناختی کاهش قابل ملاحظه‌ای در کیفیت زندگی بیمار ایجاد می‌کند. پژوهش حاضر با هدف تعیین نقش میانجی عملکرد روان­شناختی مثبت در رابطه بین خلق و خو، جبران افراطی و سرکوب‌گری عاطفی با تاب‌آوری در بیماران مبتلا به سرطان گوارش انجام گرفت.
مواد و روش‌ها: روش پژوهش توصیفی از نوع همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری، تمامی بیماران مبتلا به سرطان گوارش در بیمارستان‌های شهید رحیمی و شهدای عشایر شهر خرم‌آباد در سال 1400 بودند که با روش نمونه‌گیری هدفمند، 148 نفر انتخاب شدند. داده‌ها با استفاده از پرسش‌نامه‌های سرکوب‌گری عاطفی Weinberger، تاب‌آوری Conner-Davidson، سرشت و منش (Temperament and Character Inventory) و جبران افراطی Young و پرسش‌نامه عملکرد روان‌شناختی مثبت Rajaei و همکاران جمع‌آوری شد. تحلیل داده‌ها با استفاده از روش تحلیل مسیر انجام شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد عملکرد روان­شناختی مثبت در رابطه‌ بین خلق و خو و تاب‌آوری (621/0=β) و در رابطه بین جبران افراطی و تاب‌آوری (412/0=β)، نقش میانجی دارد (001/0>P). هم­چنین، خلق و خو (421/0=β)، جبران افراطی (365/0=β)، سرکوب‌گری (647/0=β) و عملکرد روان­شناختی مثبت (723/0=β) بر تاب‌آوری بیماران مبتلا به سرطان گوارش اثر مستقیم دارند (001/0>P).
نتیجه­گیری: یافته­های مطالعه حاضر نشان داد که عملکرد روان­شناختی مثبت، تأثیر خلق و خو بر تاب‌آوری بیماران مبتلا به سرطان را میانجی‌گری می‌کند. بنابراین، به نظر می‌رسد، بیماران مبتلا به سرطان با عملکرد روان‌شناختی مثبت می‌توانند تاب‌آوری خود را جهت مقابله با پیامدهای منفی ناشی از سرطان افزایش دهند.
