Access and application of health-oriented research results is a vital element of health promotion and reduction of health inequalities. The knowledge translation defines as a dynamic and interactive process that includes the synthesis, dissemination, exchange and ethical application of knowledge to improve health in interaction between researchers and users, which can lead to the provision of more effective health services and strengthen the health care system. In this continuing education article Presented the introduction of knowledge translation, the history of knowledge translation, its goals and exploitation, its characteristics and users, competences and strategy of knowledge translation, introducing a model of knowledge translation. In general, it can be noted that the knowledge translation starts from the time of research compilation and design (need assessment). This means that the research should be based on the needs and participating the target groups and stakeholders of the research. Also, their results should be available to all research target groups in simple language.
