زمینه و هدف: خودکشی یکی از نگرانی‌های بهداشت عمومی است. پیشگیری از خودکشی بخشی جدایی‌ناپذیر از اولین برنامه روان‌درمانی سازمان بهداشت جهانی است. لذا این پژوهش با هدف تعیین و مقایسه اثربخشی رویکرد واقعیت درمانی و درمان پذیرش و تعهد بر میزان تمایل به خودکشی و اضطراب در نوجوانان انجام شد.
مواد و روشها: روش پژوهش نیمه‌آزمایشی از نوع پیش‌آزمون-پس‌آزمون شامل دو گروه آزمایش و یک گروه کنترل بود. جامعه این پژوهش دانش‌آموزان دختر متوسطه شهر یزد در سال تحصیلی 1403-1402 بودند که از این تعداد 45 دانش‌آموز به روش نمونه‌گیری تصادفی خوشه‌ای انتخاب و به سه گروه 15 نفره تقسیم شدند. برای جمع‌آوری داده‌ها از مقیاس افکار خودکشی
(Beck 1961) و پرسش‌نامه اضطراب Beck 1988)) استفاده شد و جلسات درمان پذیرش و تعهد و واقعیت درمانی طی 8 جلسه 60 دقیقه‌ای برای گروه‌های آزمایش اجرا شد و برای گروه کنترل مداخله‌ای انجام نشد. داده‌ها توسط آنالیز کوواریانس چندمتغیره تجزیه‌‌‌‌وتحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: با توجه به نتایج، واقعیت درمانی و درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد در مقایسه با گروه کنترل باعث کاهش میزان تمایل به خودکشی و اضطراب در نوجوانان شدند (001/0>P)، اما بین دو روش درمانی در کاهش تمایل به خودکشی و اضطراب تفاوت معنی‌داری وجود نداشت (05/0<P).
نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج نشان دهنده اثربخشی هر دو روش درمانی در کاهش میزان تمایل به خودکشی و اضطراب بود. بنابراین، درمانگران و متخصصان سلامت می‌توانند از این روشها جهت بهبود ویژگی‌های مرتبط با سلامت به‌ویژه کاهش میزان تمایل به خودکشی و اضطراب استفاده کنند.
