زمینه و هدف: تعداد مرورهای نظام‌مند یا سطح دوم رو به افزایش است؛ حتی بیشتر از افزایش تعداد مطالعات پایه. موضوعات بحث‌برانگیز، یافته‌های سوگیرانه و شواهد غیرقاطع در این دو سطح، سیاست‌گذاران و پژوهش‌گران را به سمت سطح سوم شواهد یا «مرورهای چتری» سوق داده است. با وجود این­که مرورهای چتری روش‌شناسی نسبتاً جدیدی محسوب می‌شوند، در دهه‌های اخیر تعداد آن‌ها با شیب تندی افزایش یافته است و این نشان از علاقه و نیاز روزافزون به این مسیر تحقیقاتی دارد. راهنماهایی برای انجام مرورهای چتری منتشر شده‌اند؛ بااین­حال، ناهمخوانی‌های موجود در این راهنماها، پژوهش‌گران را دربارۀ شیوۀ مناسب انجام سردرگم ساخته‌اند. هدف مطالعۀ حاضر تصریح ضرورت، شرایط، چالش‌ها‌ و تله‌های مرورهای چتری بود. در آخر، راهنماهایی گام به گام برای نحوۀ انجام و گزارش‌دهی یک مرور چتری طرح شدند. امیدواریم متن حاضر و راهنمایی‌های عملی فراهم­ شده توجه جامعۀ دانشگاهیان ایرانی را به مرورهای چتری جلب کند.
