Background and Objectives: Domestic violence is associated with harmful health consequences and can overshadow married life. Based on this, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the educational package based on domestic violence on reducing frustration and marital instability.
Materials and Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group and a three-month follow-up. The statistical population included all the women involved in domestic violence who referred to counseling centers in Shiraz in 2021. Based on the purposeful sampling method, 30 people were selected and randomly replaced in the experimental group (15 people) and the control group (15 people). The measurement tool was Kayser's (1993) Marital Frustration Questionnaire and Edward et al.’s (1987) Marital Instability Questionnaire. The experimental group received 14 sessions of 60 minutes for 7 consecutive weeks and the control group did not receive any intervention. The data were analyzed using mixed analysis of variance method.
Results: The results of data analysis showed that after the intervention, the effect of the training package based on domestic violence on reducing frustration (F=580.452, η=0.954, p<0.001) and marital instability (F=425.009, η=0.938, p<0.001) of women was significant, and these positive effects remained stable during the follow-up period.
Conclusion: The results of the current study showed that the educational package based on domestic violence is effective in reducing frustration and marital instability of women. Therefore, it is recommended to use this approach to reduce women's marital problems.
