Abstract:   (23 Views)
Motivation provides the energy necessary for effort and achievement. However, there is evidence indicating that medical students' motivation declines over the course of their studies or shifts from adaptive forms to less adaptive ones. Decreased motivation leads to reduced effort and perseverance among learners, thereby diminishing their academic performance. Therefore, it is important to introduce strategies to medical students that they can use to cope with declining motivation. Research in educational psychology has successfully identified a set of strategies for enhancing self-motivation, including value regulation, performance goal regulation, self-consequating, environmental structuring, situational interest regulation, and mastery goal regulation. Numerous studies have confirmed the effectiveness of these strategies in enhancing learners' motivation.
